Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in the specialty department is responsible for providing comprehensive obstetric care within a healthcare facility. The role requires managing high-risk pregnancies, conducting fetal monitoring, and supporting patients through childbirth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: Must be proficient with experience from patient check-in to pre/post care and discharge. Clinical competence in utilizing the nursing process is essential. The RN will assess and identify patient problems/needs, establish a plan of care, implement interventions, and evaluate and revise the patient plan based on progress.
- Care Management Type(s): Demonstrates clinical competence by utilizing the nursing process. The RN must assess and identify patient problems/needs, establish a plan of care, implement interventions, and evaluate and revise the patient plan of care based on patient progress.
- Special Requirements: Experience managing high-risk pregnancies, including preterm labor, high blood pressure, diabetes, VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean Section), prenatal testing, and amniocentesis.
- Fetal Monitoring Experience: REQUIRED
- Submission Requirements:
- 2 years of recent Labor Delivery / OB experience REQUIRED
- Fetal Monitoring Experience REQUIRED
- Previous travel experience HIGHLY PREFERRED
- BLS (AHA), AWHONN, NRP certifications required and current at time of submission
- RTO (Request for Time Off) must be included in submission (limit to 5 days)
- Work History and recent Labor Delivery skills checklist REQUIRED
- Supervisory Signed Reference from the past year REQUIRED
- Active American Heart Association BLS, AWHONN certification, and NRP certification REQUIRED DOCUMENT
- License verification REQUIRED DOCUMENT
- Permanent address must be included in submission file REQUIRED
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Start Date: 10/05/2026
- End Date: 01/04/2027
- Location Requirements: Must live outside a 50+ mile radius of the organization and include a permanent address in the submission file.
