Job Summary
The Postpartum Floor Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department at a healthcare facility. The position involves caring for mother/baby couples, with a focus on postpartum and labor and delivery services, ensuring personalized, patient-centered care based on established clinical practices and standards.
Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Postpartum Floor, Maternal Child Health
- Location: The healthcare facilitys maternity department
- Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Valid state nursing license, current RN license, and at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care to postpartum and labor/delivery patients
- Collaborates with unit leadership to follow governing bodies scope of practice
- Conducts observation data collection, develops and evaluates care plans, and prioritizes patient needs
- Engages patients and families in care goal setting and education
- Demonstrates critical thinking and technical competence in patient interventions
- Acts as a resource to peers and stays current with policies and procedures
- Facilitates linking patients and families with other disciplines and services as needed
- Independently cares for mother/baby couples, with postpartum experience required
- Works within units equipped for family-centered infant care, including NICU and operating room areas
