Job Summary
The organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to support patient recovery after surgical procedures. Located in the healthcare setting, this role involves delivering professional nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring safety, and promoting quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and 1 year of experience are required.
- Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Supports and promotes the mission and values of the organization.
- Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital.
- Supports quality improvement planning and processes for the area of practice.
- Completes clinical documentation and care plans comprehensively for all patients assigned in a timely manner.
- Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes appropriate actions.
- Practice reflects knowledge of current practice standards (ANA, NH Nurse Practice Act, Specialty standards).
- Communicates patient information appropriately for continuity and safe care through hand-offs, walking rounds, and physician/provider interaction.
- Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols.
- Implements resources and initiatives to improve patient safety.
- Works within guidelines of Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and safe practices; addresses issues through appropriate use of the chain of command.
- Completes hourly rounding in collaboration with Licensed Nursing Assistants on all assigned patients.
- Identifies and assists in correcting patient care safety issues.
- Recognizes and praises colleagues' excellent performance.
- Builds respectful relationships through early and proactive concerns identification, compliments, or suggestions.
- Collaborates to resolve conflicts and issues promptly, unit to unit, and shift to shift.
- Consults with nurses in other departments or units to leverage expertise.
- Displays professional and positive attitude, even in difficult circumstances.
- Seeks opportunities to assist team members and demonstrates shared governance principles.
- Assists with planning, supervising, and instructing other nurses and assistants.
- Participates in peer review and DNV survey readiness.
- Demonstrates characteristics of the SPIRIT of the organization with a commitment to colleagues and accountability.
- Manages optional time off per policy, avoids unauthorized overtime, and participates in solution development for problems and conflicts.
- Effectively delegates care and unit activities.
- Works collaboratively with nursing students and instructors.
