Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) RN Location not specified. This position involves providing advanced care for neonatal patients in a specialized unit, with responsibilities including managing complex medical conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The role requires flexibility to float to other pediatric units as needed.
Job Details:
- Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; California licensure in hand for RN position.
- Location Requirements: Candidate must hold a California RN license.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and level 3 & 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience.
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include: Administration of blood and blood products, medication management, arterial line management, assisting with lumbar puncture, blood glucose monitoring, breastfeeding support, use of high flow nasal cannula, ventilator management, patient/family teaching, placement and management of feeding tubes, assessment and management of neonatal conditions such as sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis, neonatal abstinence syndrome, respiratory distress syndrome, and maintaining thermoregulation.
- Additional job requirements: Willing and able to float to other pediatric units and facilities as needed.
- Submission requirements: Must provide two references from recent employers at the time of application.
