Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Location: unspecified. This position involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients ranging from extreme prematurity to young infants, including those needing ventilator support, oscillators, pressors, and micro preemies. The role demands hands-on assessment and immediate care in response to neonatal emergencies, with a focus on high-acuity patient management.
Job Details
- Certification Requirements: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district, with STABLE, NRP, and BLS certifications.
- Education and Experience: Must have at least 2 years of NICU Level 3 experience; experience in ventilator management, oscillators, pressors, and care for micro preemies required.
- Position Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Respond to neonatal emergencies, provide assessment and ongoing care, attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries, and perform bedside procedures such as IV insertions, intubations, septic workups, and medication administration.
- Qualifications: Experience with noninvasive nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), mechanical ventilation including high-frequency oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation therapy preferred.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet all listed qualifications and provide proper licensing documentation.
