Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in the NICU specialty is responsible for providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a Level II unit. This role entails managing babies born at 28 weeks gestation and above, including those with respiratory complications, sepsis, and congenital conditions, within a fast-paced hospital environment.

- Position Description:
The NICU Nurse will work in a NICU with 12 private rooms and a Special Care Nursery with 18 beds, handling high-acuity neonatal cases that require extensive respiratory and clinical support. The role involves managing ventilators, CPAP, RAM, Vapotherm nasal cannulas, and caring for infants with diagnoses such as hyperbilirubinemia, meconium aspiration, and sepsis. - Required Qualifications:
Valid BLS Certification, NRP Certification, minimum 2 years of recent Level II NICU experience (preferred Level III experience), current license to practice, and eligible to submit credentials. - Schedule:
Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. - Additional Information:
The role requires work during holiday rotations and four weekend shifts within a four-week cycle. Self-scheduling is utilized, and floating may occur within the unit as needed. Neonatal patients often require ventilation, blood transfusions, and treatment for various neonatal conditions.
