Job Summary
Telemetry (TELE) Nurse in an acute care setting on the 4th Floor North specializes in providing high-quality patient care for neurological and medical-surgical patients. This role involves managing patients with stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery, and other med/surg conditions, while supporting a collaborative healthcare team.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications; at least 2 years of recent acute care experience in telemetry or similar setting; valid driver's license required.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness, managing multiple admissions and discharges daily, and working in a team-oriented environment.
- Unit Notes: Pass/fail exam on skills learned during orientation with a requirement of 90% to pass; nail policy prohibits artificial nails; candidates must be within a 50-mile radius and not employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with associated facilities; orientation includes 2 days of unit-specific training.
- Float Requirements: Float rotation may be required.
- Other: Telemetry monitors interpreted by techs; RN expected to read strips; staff required to manage drips such as Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine, with PCA pumps available; charge nurse participates in patient assignments.
