Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurses are needed for a 13-week contract at a healthcare facility in South Austin. These professionals will provide patient care within a neuro medical/surgical unit, leveraging telemetry skills to monitor and support patients with complex needs and neurological conditions.
Job Details
- Specialty: Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE)
- Location: South Austin Medical Center, Main Floor, 5 Central
- Position Description: CONTRACT - RN - MED SURG/TELE 5C (612) - 13 WEEKS - 7:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. Shift, 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Licensed Registered Nurse, BLS certification, IV certification for LVNs, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in the specialty, and current CPR and IV certification.
- Responsibilities include providing direct patient care on the neuro medical/surgical unit, utilizing telemetry equipment such as Welch Allyn vital sign monitors, COWs, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, and Teleneuro EMR Meditech. Candidates must be team-oriented and self-motivated.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stroke NIH protocols, EEG procedures, gastric decompression, and wound care.
- Additional Information: The unit has a bed capacity of 30, with a staff of 60, including RN, LVN, PCTs, and UC. Candidates should include the navy scrub attire guideline and adhere to unit policies.
