Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Location: The organization is seeking a qualified Labor and Delivery Nurse to provide high-quality care for mothers and newborns in a hospital setting. This role involves working in a Level 1 perinatal/nursery designated unit, with responsibilities including stabilization of newborns and managing low and high-risk obstetric patients during night shifts.

Job Details

• Position Description: The role involves working within the obstetrics unit, supporting stable and high-risk OB patients, and caring for newborns after delivery. The unit includes LDRP beds, OR suites, PACU/recovery, and triage beds, with an average of 6 births per day.
• Required Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM).
• Education and Experience: Active Illinois license or application confirmation, 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience, and completion of required certifications.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Additional Responsibilities: Monitoring fetal and neonatal status via Philips fetal monitoring, EPIC, and OBIX systems; assisting with C-sections; providing bedside care; and responding to fetal heart rate concerns.
• Float Requirements: Float rotation may be required, with opportunities to float within the organizations units, including OB, ICU, Med/Surg, and ED, as needed by the unit.
