Description
Job Summary
Step Down Unit RN Madison, WI. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment within a Level I Trauma Center. The role requires proficiency in telemetry, vent management, and transplant experience, supporting both general and intensive care level patients.
Job Details
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI RN or compact RN license.
- Education/Experience: Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty they are submitting to; no minimum experience listed otherwise.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Additional Job Information:
- Work in a collaborative environment as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for adults with medical diagnoses including pulmonary hypertension, Cystic Fibrosis, and post lung transplant patients.
- Must have experience working in an academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital, with proficiency in vent and transplant management.
- Candidate must pass telemetry test prior to start, with two attempts allowed, achieving an 80% or higher score. A cardio interpretation review course certification may be submitted if needed after failed attempts.
- Active adherence to facility policies including required uniform, pass/Fail testing, and successful completion of a telemetry exam.
