Job Summary
Telemetry (TELE) RN Nights the organization is seeking a qualified Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide patient care in an acute care setting. The role involves managing post-catherization patients, including sheaths and trans-radial band management, with TAVR experience preferred. The Telemetry RN will also care for medical patients requiring telemonitoring and may assist with chest tubes and overflow duties from adjacent units.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The Telemetry RN will manage post-catherization patients, including sheath and TR band management, with a preference for TAVR experience. Responsibilities include serving as overflow for adjacent units, managing chest tubes, and caring for medical patients requiring telemonitoring.
  • Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS certification is required. A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a telemetry or similar setting is required.
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Duties and Responsibilities: Provide bedside care, read telemetry strips, troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow, and participate in self-scheduled shifts with flexibility for change.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Involves caring for post-catherization patients, managing sheaths and TR bands, and supporting overflow needs from other units. The unit operates with a nurse to patient ratio of approximately 1:4-6 depending on acuity and includes a charge nurse on each shift who may also take an assignment. Telemetry and respiratory equipment are in-house, with RT support available. The unit utilizes centralized tele monitoring, and RNs are responsible for reading strips once per shift and with rhythm changes. Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts.
