Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down Registered Nurse for a temporary assignment at a facility in Wausau, WI. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment within a 44-bed intermediate cardiac step-down unit, supporting patients post operatively, with a focus on cardiac conditions and other medical/surgical cases.

Job Details

• Certifications required: WI Registered Nurse License, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. Must be able to pass an EKG test in the first week of hire.
• Education: Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent strong cardiac experience (Cardiac Step Down Unit, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac Intensive Care Unit). Additionally, at least 2 years of Intermediate Medical Cardiology (IMC), Progressive Care Unit, or Telemetry experience are required. Candidates must have experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Additional responsibilities include floating to all inpatient units as needed, working every other weekend and holiday, and managing a high-acuity patient caseload with a typical ratio of 1:4.
• Candidates must complete at least one previous travel assignment and have recent EPIC charting experience of 1 year.
• Unit information: 44-bed cardiac step-down, fast-paced environment with diverse patient conditions including post-operative coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, thoracotomies, vascular procedures, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, among others.
