Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Nurse in Madison, WI A prestigious healthcare provider seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join a highly specialized inpatient unit focused on hematology, oncology, stem cell transplant, and palliative care. This role involves caring for patients with complex disease processes, including leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumors, often with complications such as Graft-Versus-Host Disease. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge therapies within a Magnet-designated facility known for its leadership in cancer care.
Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse Medical Surgical with Telemetry, Madison, WI
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, 0700 1930, every other weekend, holidays on rotation.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification, Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC), at least 3 years recent experience in Heme/ONC/BMT, level 1 trauma or similar hospital experience, EPIC experience, pass telemetry test prior to start, minimum 3 years recent experience in inpatient RN role.
- Preferred Qualifications: Inpatient RN experience in oncology or hematology, experience with complex care processes including port management, blood and blood product administration, and central line care.
- Additional Responsibilities: Administer chemotherapy, assist with stem cell transplant procedures, perform bone marrow biopsies, access central lines and ports, perform head-to-toe assessments, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), RN license.
- Additional Requirements: Pass strict telemetry skills exam with two attempts; a cardiology review course certificate required if the exam is not passed after third attempt.
- Travel Experience: Not specified, but required to pass telemetry testing and have recent acute care experience.
