Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a Level III Trauma and Stroke Center The healthcare provider is seeking experienced ER nurses to support their fast-paced emergency department serving nine counties. This position involves providing critical care for a diverse patient population, including trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatrics, and geriatric cases, with the opportunity to float between two campuses.
Job Details
- Position Description: ER Nurse charged with delivering high-quality emergency care in a Level III Trauma and Stroke Center. The role involves working in a busy, high-volume department, managing patients with varied diagnoses such as chest pain, trauma, pediatric illnesses, and mental status changes. The ER treats approximately 135 patients daily, with nurse-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:8 depending on acuity.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse, at least 2 years of ER experience in a facility with similar patient volume and trauma level, current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday rotations apply.
- Additional Information: Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) within three attempts. The role involves floating between two campuses, with some duties in triage and trauma support, participation in rapid response and code responses, and performing various technical skills including ABGs, EKGs, and respiratory therapies.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must submit a copy of their drivers license at the time of application for validation.
