Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN Location unspecified. This position involves providing direct nursing care to medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients within an acute care setting. The role requires performing assessments, developing care plans, administering medications, and utilizing specialized equipment, with a focus on patient safety and team collaboration.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS from the American Heart Association, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical unit.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating schedule, with every other weekend and holiday.
• Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, medication administration, wound care, patient education, and communication with interdisciplinary care team.
• Experience with orthopedics and Epic system preferred; competent in chest tube management, trach cares, assisting with procedures such as paracentesis or thoracentesis, and behavioral health patient care in emergency situations.
• Must have the ability to monitor telemetry patients, admit/discharge patients, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Floating to other units/departments such as telemetry, observation, acute rehab, or postpartum is very low but possible; float requirements to OB, CCU, or ICU may occur if needed.
• Equipment utilized includes Epic for computerized charting, AccuDose medication system, EZ Stand, Hoyer Lift, Overbed Lift, SCDs, glucometers, and space labs vitals machines.
• Candidates must include in submission if they have previously worked for the organization, with a prior employment end date at least 6 months before.
