Job Details

• Position: Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; minimum 2 years of MedSurg experience; EPIC electronic health record experience; ability to read and interpret telemetry; willingness to precept new travelers and take students.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Responsibilities: Managing adult patients with diagnoses such as total joints, orthopedic hip fractures, spine surgeries, urology procedures, general surgeries including bowel resections and mastectomies, GYN overflow, medical overflow such as COPD, behavioral health, sepsis, and infections. RNs will interpret tele telemetry, manage titratable drips (Heparin, PCA, Morphine), and collaborate with a virtual Tele Health team.
• Float: Float rotation may be required; floating between MedSurg units and other like units within the healthcare system, including ER for holds or 1:1 care.
• Additional Information: Staff includes nurse aids/patient care techs at a ratio of 1:8, with various RT equipment managed by RT staff. Shifts include weekend and holiday work as needed, with online modules and on-unit preceptorship during orientation.
