Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Location: unspecified. This position involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a Level II NICU environment. The role requires ensuring high-quality patient care and collaborating effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); Education: Nursing license; Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent NICU experience within the past 6 months; Location: Must hold a valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- Schedule: Self-scheduling with 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Details: Must pass/fail Sim Lab (regarding foley catheter insertion) on Day 1 of orientation. Experience with high-level neonatal care, respiratory management (vents, CPAP, Vapotherm), and handling complex neonatal conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome, PPHN, and sepsis preferred. No float out of NICU floor; orientation includes two shifts with a preceptor. Performs patient assessments, monitors ventilators and monitors, and collaborates with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners 24/7. Shifts include four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule and holiday rotation.
