Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing specialized care in a Level II NICU for neonates 32 weeks gestation and above. The role requires delivering high-quality neonatal nursing services within a fast-paced environment, including managing patients on CPAP and High Flow therapies, with a focus on babies facing various health challenges associated with prematurity or neonatal conditions.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Care for neonates in a Level II Special Care nursery with an average of 10 patients; involves handling patients on CPAP, High Flow, Feeder growers, R/S Sepsis, and Hyperbili.
  • Required Qualifications: Current certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and STABLE; at least 2 years of NICU experience, with a minimum of 2 years in Level 2 NICU settings; valid license to practice.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Must have a minimum of 2 years NICU experience, with Level 2 NICU experience required; Level 3 NICU experience preferred. A pass/fail Sim Lab test on Foley catheter insertion is required on Day 1 of orientation. NICU nurses start all their own IVs and are familiar with Cerner charting system. NICU travelers may float to a sister hospital as needed; no call requirements, and holiday shifts include one major and one minor holiday if scheduled.
