Description
Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) in a busy and large Level 1 Trauma facility. This position involves providing critical care for patients with complex diagnoses such as heart failure, STEMI, pulmonary emboli, arrhythmias, and MICU overflow. The role requires flexibility with scheduling, floating to similar units, and extensive experience in managing ventilators, pressors, and hemodynamics.
Job Details
- Location: Not specified, working in a large, busy trauma hospital setting.
- Shift Details: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators, pressors, hemodynamics (PAC, CVP, arterial lines), managing sheaths, IABP, Impella, CRRT, and ability to paralyze and sedate patients.
- Additional Responsibilities: Troubleshooting ventilators, intervening in emergencies, reading telemetry strips, and supporting blood gas management.
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, every other weekend, with occasional holiday coverage.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to float to similar units and submit to a 12-hour, two-shift orientation. Candidates must be open to working in an environment that emphasizes EPIC documentation and requires a license to submit.
