Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) located in an unspecified facility, this position involves monitoring and assuring the quality and operational efficiency of sterile processing services. The role requires overseeing workflow, conducting audits, and supporting staff training within a fast-paced healthcare environment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Job Details:
- Position Description: Quality Assurance Coordinator Sterile Processing, with a start date of September 14 or 21, 2026. Responsibilities include monitoring SPD workflow, performing process and quality tray audits, documenting results, and maintaining accurate quality reporting. The role involves training new hires, supporting ongoing quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to standards set by AAMI, Joint Commission, and the organization.
- Certifications and Education Requirements: Certification as a sterile processing technician, such as CRCST or CBSPDT; expertise in SPD systems, AAMI standards, Joint Commission, and Infection Prevention protocols; Epic experience required.
- Experience Requirements: At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance, staff education, or supervisory responsibilities, including 3+ years in sterile processing. A minimum of 1 successful travel contract in sterile processing is preferred.
- Schedule: 8-hour evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The position requires proficiency with instrument tracking systems, routine equipment maintenance monitoring, and compliance with load-failure procedures. Involves participation in meetings, reporting, and process improvement activities.
