Job Summary
The Pediatric Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a position at a healthcare facility in Norfolk, VA. The role involves providing specialized neonatal nursing care within a Level IV, 70-Bed unit, supporting premature infants and neonates with complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neonatal intensive care and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Details

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Location: Norfolk, VA
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Education Requirements, Degree, Location, and Years of Experience: Valid RN license, at least 1 year of NICU experience
Responsibilities include caring for premature infants (22-36 weeks), neurological disorders, cardiac lesions, respiratory issues, renal and gastrointestinal conditions, anomalies, and conducting bedside surgeries such as PDA ligation and chest tube insertions.
Nurse ratios are 1:2 or 1:3, with occasional floating requiring assignment to similar patient populations such as the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Patient management involves primary nursing, computerized charting through Cerner, and collaborative care delivery.
Length of orientation is 2-3 shifts, with start date scheduled for September 7, 2026, and end date December 6, 2026.
