Description

Job Summary
Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) Located in Juneau, this position involves providing surgical technologist services in a healthcare facility. The role supports advanced and complex surgical procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and assisting surgeons under the supervision of registered nurses.

Job Details

Certifications and Education Requirements: Surgical Technologist Certification (CST), current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, high school diploma or GED, completion of a technologist training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or any accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Experience Required: 1 year.
Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities include scrubbing in on surgical procedures, preparing sterile setups, monitoring supplies for sterility, and participating in quality assurance activities.
Develops educational programs and learning aids for the department, participates in committees, and provides backup for emergency cases requiring two surgical technicians.
Additional duties as assigned.
