Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing patient care on a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in post-surgical patients including general, urology, abdominal, trauma, ENT, and bariatrics (excluding cardiac, ortho, or neuro). The position emphasizes bedside report, hourly rounding, and maintaining a positive attitude to support patient recovery and care.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Provides nursing care within a MedSurg Post Surgical unit with 38 beds, including semi-private rooms. Responsible for managing patients with diagnoses such as post-surgical conditions, trauma, and other general surgical issues.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS certification; Oregon or eligibility for a 90-day temporary license; 2 years of clinical experience in a MedSurg setting; ability to read telemetry strips; experience with chest tubes, central lines, heparin drips, NG, JP drains, wound vacs, dressing changes, titratable Heparin, and set rate drugs (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem). Must have a valid RN license; minimum of 0 years experience.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 0645-1915 or 1845-0715; minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CV experience or advanced skills with titratable drips and telemetry monitoring preferred.
  • Additional Information: Working on a unit with CNA support, remote telemonitoring, and a charge nurse who does not take patient assignments. Travelers may float within skill set, including to other MedSurg units, ICU, or ER. Scrubs provided; no tattoos above shoulders; facial piercings limited to a nose stud; natural hair colors only. Orientation includes 2 shifts of 12 hours.
  • Submission Requirements: Current RN license with ability to submit license; willing to wait for license processing.
