Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Specialist in a healthcare facility setting. This role involves caring for laboring patients, providing couplet care, and supporting triage activities in a Level I postpartum unit. The position offers a nights shift schedule and is suitable for first-time travelers seeking a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Specialist
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours
- Schedule: Minimum of 36 hours per week, with shifts occurring every other weekend
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and STABLE; experience in charting with Epic system; 1 year of clinical experience; current licensure and credentials as required
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience, patient ratio experience of 3, and community hospital experience
- Responsibilities: Assist with circumcision and postpartum assessments, support vaginal deliveries, provide breastfeeding and lactation support, manage cesarean sections, facilitate couplet care, handle infant identification, support labor and delivery activities, and perform newborn assessments including hypoglycemia and thermoregulation
- Additional Information: Candidate must be able to care for laboring patients, support triage, and manage postpartum recovery in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) unit. Floating to similar units may be required
