Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) The organization is seeking a qualified Health Care Professional to provide specialized care in a Level II NICU setting. This role involves attending all deliveries and high-risk deliveries, supporting unstable newborns of at least 32 weeks gestation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; at least 1 year of experience in NICU settings caring for neonates of 29-34 weeks gestation; valid license in the state with a compact license preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with Level II NICU patients and neonates requiring breathing support such as Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP); experience with neonates of 29-34 weeks; familiarity with charting systems and neonatal procedures.
• Additional Responsibilities: Attend all deliveries including high-risk cases, support GYN surgeries, handle respiratory support such as CPAP/BiPAP, and maintain proficiency in procedures including chest tube care, feeding tube management, PICC lines, and central lines.
• Certifications and Skills: Must hold current BLS and NRP certifications; skills include NICU care, neonatal handling and feeding, infection control precautions, central line care, and neonatal resuscitation.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must submit two references covering one-year period, with at least six months spent in NICU roles within the last three years. Candidates are expected to have worked at a healthcare organization fulfilling similar duties.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Unit Information: The unit cares for unstable neonates of 32 weeks gestation and greater, with a focus on high-risk deliveries and neonatal stabilization procedures.
