Job Summary
Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician Plano, TX. This position involves supporting the surgical team during operative procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role ensures a safe operating environment by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment, and assisting with patient positioning and specimen handling.

Job Details

• Certifications and Education: BLS (American Heart Association) and CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or qualified grandfathered candidates.
• Specialty: Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician.
• Schedule: Evenings shift, 8 hours daily, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Experience Requirement: 2 years minimum in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) required.
• Responsibilities:
  • Discuss any special needs with the surgeon before surgery and scrub in promptly for preparation.
  • Prepare the operative site aseptically and organize instrument trays to prevent damage or delays.
  • Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and supplies, perform surgical counts, and pass sterile supplies during procedures.
  • Assist with patient draping, positioning, and handling of surgical specimens.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments, and maintain infection control standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Follow established policies for decontamination and waste disposal.
• Additional Information:
  • Successful completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program until 180 days after graduation is required.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention, sterile technique, and human anatomy is essential.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Occasional exposure to chemical or radiation hazards may occur.
  • The position is scheduled to start on 10/26/2026 and end on 01/24/2027, with a virtual/phone interview process.
