Description
Job Summary:
Gastroenterology Laboratory Technician located in Central California. This role involves working in the gastroenterology (GI) laboratory under the supervision of registered nurses, assisting with various GI procedures, and caring for adult and geriatric patients. The position supports the organizations commitment to delivering quality care within a dynamic, coastal community.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours weekly, starting on 09/14/2026 and ending on 12/13/2026.
- Required Qualifications: High School Education or GED; BLS or CPR certification from an approved vendor per organization policy.
- Preferred Qualifications: Associates or Technical Degree; experience in Gastroenterology (GI) Laboratory or Operating Room settings; minimum of 3 years GI Tech experience.
- Essential Functions: Demonstrates competency in endoscopic procedures, including proper disinfection, care, and handling of endoscopes; assists physicians during procedures; maintains sterilization quality control, including biological monitoring; practices universal precautions and hazardous materials management; performs scope washing, disinfecting, storing, and quality testing; transports patients; collaborates with registered nurses to provide direct patient care; manages inventory and contributes to performance improvement data collection; performs other related duties as assigned.
- Additional Information: Assists gastroenterologists with various procedures, prepares endoscopy rooms, and ensures sterilization and cleaning protocols are followed meticulously.
