Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in a well-established outpatient cancer center. The role involves providing infusion and supportive care for adult oncology patients, primarily focusing on chemotherapy administration and related procedures. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency with IV therapy, port care, and managing cancer treatments in a fast-paced environment, with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days, 8 hours per shift
- Schedule: 8 hours, Monday to Friday, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Chemo certified (ONS/ONCC); Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN); at least 1 year of healthcare experience, including experience with oncology or infusion nursing; experience with managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and IV therapy
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for chemotherapy patients with a wide range of cancer diagnoses; familiarity with Epic charting system; strong skills in port access, infusion pump management, and infection control procedures
- Additional Information: This position requires handling various infusion procedures including Iron infusions, Reclast/Zometa, Zoladex, Lupron, Faslodex injections, port flushes, hydration treatments, and genetic or liquid biopsy procedures. Work primarily involves adult patients with hematology and oncology diagnoses. Candidates must be comfortable working in an outpatient setting and adaptable to occasional overtime if reactions or treatment complexities arise.
