Job Summary

Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse is needed at this healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes in a dynamic obstetric setting.

Job Details

  • Location: Labor and Delivery Department at the healthcare facility
  • Certifications and Education Requirements: Active license with a compact license in hand, BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications; 2 years of clinical experience in labor and delivery setting required
  • Work Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Attend all deliveries, including high-risk cases
    • Administer blood and blood products
    • Utilize special procedures such as cardioversion, cooling/warming blankets, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, and wound vacs
    • Manage medications including heparin, insulin, magnesium sulfate
    • Collaborate with team for GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery
    • Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and other specialized equipment
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, prior community hospital experience, ability to float within specified units
  • Additional Information: Must be able to work a flexible holiday schedule, including participating in the holiday rotation and requesting specific days off upfront. May be required to float to other units based on skill set and staffing needs.
