Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in the L&D department, located in a healthcare facility, is responsible for providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The position involves supporting high-risk and low-risk deliveries, attending high-risk deliveries, and assisting with various obstetric procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Certifications and Requirements: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate certifications, with ACLS preferred. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Valid compact state license in hand at submission.
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Attending all deliveries, supporting high-risk deliveries, performing GYN surgeries, providing postpartum and transitional nursery care, and assisting with special procedures such as blood and blood product administration, cardioversion, epidural placement, and Wound Vac management.
- Additional Information: Experience with Epic charting system required. Ability to float to post-partum, OB-GYN, or L&D units, with float rotation as applicable. Travel experience is preferred. Candidate must have worked at a Providence facility previously or provide relevant references. Must be willing to work up to three specified holidays and adhere to scheduling and RTO requests provided upfront during submission.
