Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Location: unspecified. This role involves decontamination, sterilization, and storage of instruments and clinical equipment within a healthcare facility. The position requires a focus on adhering to proper sterilization techniques, using appropriate PPE, and ensuring instruments are ready for clinical use.

Job Details

• Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; High School Education or GED; Basic Computer skills; Successful completion of Medical Terminology course or passage of CCH Medical Terminology challenge exam; Successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology course (High School level or higher) or passage of CCH Anatomy Exam; SPD Technician Certification or 1 year recent (within the past 5 years) SPD experience; Must successfully pass the SPD Technician Certification exam; Ability to serve as a SPD Aide.
• Schedule: Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Performs decontamination, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and supplies. Operates sterilization equipment including steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris I sterilizers, as well as other testing devices. Manages inventory, ensures sterilization processes meet standards, and maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Demonstrates proficiency in SPD functions and works independently without direct supervision.
