Job Summary
The healthcare facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse for a night shift position. This role involves providing critical care to adult patients with cardiovascular and thoracic diagnoses, including post-operative cardiac surgeries and vascular procedures, within a Magnet designated facility.

Job Details

• Position Description: ICU - Cardiovascular Specialty, Milwaukee, WI The role requires a minimum of three years of ICU experience with at least one year specifically in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit settings. The nurse will be responsible for invasive line monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, ventilator and tracheostomy management, and administration of cardiac medications including inotropes and vasopressors.
• Required Qualifications: 3 years of ICU experience with 1-year CVICU experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a 6-week schedule cycle.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification, EPIC electronic medical record experience, personnel with specific cardiovascular surgical experience such as ECMO, CVVH, IABP, or VAD are preferred.
• Additional Information: Orientation includes a 1-day facility orientation and 2-4 hours of unit-specific education with a supervisor or nurse educator, followed by placement on the unit with a preceptor. There is a rotating schedule with every other weekend work, no on-call requirement, and holiday shifts anticipated for 1-2 per contract. The position involves floating to other ICU units such as MICU, SICU, CICU, and Neuro ICU, including ED Holding and MSU. Support staff includes a dedicated CVICU Intensivist, hospitalist, general intensivist, ICU RT, and bedside telemetry monitoring.
