Job Summary
A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse is sought for a position at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period, working closely with an inter-professional team to ensure safe and patient-centered care. The nurse will demonstrate expertise in evidence-based practice and patient safety while fostering a healing environment.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The L&D Nurse practices as a full partner on the healthcare team, demonstrating safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The nurse independently delivers patient care through the application of the nursing process, with assigned patients ranging from infancy to adult. The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, safety, evidence-based practice, teamwork, professionalism, and leadership.
  • Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of recent labor and antepartum experience; proficient in clinical equipment and technology; current California RN license; current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification via the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN); and the ability to work 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Highly preferred high-risk antepartum experience.
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: The role involves evaluating current practice, promoting patient safety, and participating in care planning. The nurse will guide, assist, and direct unlicensed assistive personnel as defined by the California Nurse Practice Act and the organization's policies.
