Job Summary
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Nurse (MS ORTHO) Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions within a healthcare facility. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while promoting health education and therapy support to enhance patient well-being.
Job Details
- Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Evaluate health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
- Perform health teaching and health counseling.
- Provide therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative, either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others.
- Execute delegated medical functions.
- Refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Document in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Use resources as needed.
- Promote mission, vision, and values of the organization, and abide by service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Required Qualifications:
- ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, and experience requirement: 0 years.
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Specialty: Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- ACLS, NRP, or PALS certifications as appropriate for unit or service.
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
Additional Information
- May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
