Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) RN Nights 22-bed Neuro Unit located in the area of Deaconess Illinois Medical Center. This role involves providing compassionate and specialized care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including those with cerebrovascular accidents, elective back/neck surgeries, and cerebral angiograms. The position offers a 13-week contract with guaranteed hours, requiring strong assessment skills and experience in neurology.

Job Details

• Position Description: Deaconess Illinois Medical Center Neuro MS/TELE RN 12-hour night shifts, with the possibility of floating to the medical unit.
• Required Qualifications: Current active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. Minimum of two years of strong medical-surgical/telemetry experience, including one travel assignment. Experience with neuro patients required. Recent Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) charting experience preferred.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Must be a hard worker, resilient, and capable of managing change effectively. Candidates should demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with comfort in handling neuro assessments, dysphagia screens, telemetry interpretation, and various medical procedures. The unit is a 22-bed neuro unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.
