Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing direct nursing care within a 15-bed Neuro/Ortho unit, following established policies, procedures, and protocols. The nurse will implement and monitor patient care plans, communicate patient conditions, and coordinate discharge planning efforts to ensure seamless patient care.

Job Details

• Position Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Serves as a primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care. Notes and executes physician and nursing orders. Coordinates discharge planning with healthcare team members.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 1 year of experience in medical-surgical or related units; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Healthcare Provider (HCP) certification; educational requirements as per licensing standards; flexibility to work night shifts; scheduled for 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic charting system; Neuro/Ortho unit experience preferred.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The unit emphasizes critical thinking, decisive judgment, and capacity to work with minimal supervision. The role requires working in a high-stress environment, supporting patient care on a Neuro/Ortho unit with Navy or maroon scrubs.
