Job Summary
Telemetry (TELE) Nurse in Tacoma and nearby regions the healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Telemetry Nurse to join the team for a temporary assignment. The role involves providing specialized nursing care in a telemetry unit, with potential responsibilities in different facilities within the region, including float duties across multiple hospitals.
Job Details
- Position Description: The Telemetry Nurse will work primarily at a facility providing care for patients with total joints, cardiac rule out, pneumonia, psychiatric, and general surgical post-operative conditions. The role requires skills in administering Nitro, Insulin (which may be initiated and then transferred), low-dose dopamine, and dobutamine. Titration of drips such as heparin, which is weight-based, may be required. The nurse will read strips and oversee titratable infusions, with RN titration required for certain drips. The unit has bed ratios of 1:5, with a maximum of 1:8, and may include responsibilities for tele/monitoring technology such as Cpap, Bipap, and high-flow oxygen therapy.
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: Must have BLS (AHA) certification and a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in a telemetry or similar setting. Occupation-specific skill sets include experience with insulin, titratable drips like heparin, and utilizing electronic charting systems.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including every other weekend rotation and holiday rotation as needed.
- Additional Information: The assignment includes float responsibilities up to medical telemetry, PCU, or ICU to care for acuity patients or ER holding areas. Orientation will include testing out of Epic EMR and meeting with the unit educator, with one full shift of orientation. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.
