Job Summary
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) practicing within a hospital setting. This position involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients, ranging from infancy to early childhood, as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The NICU Nurse demonstrates safe practice within the professional practice model and independently delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process, focusing on individualized, family-centered care.

Job Details

Position Description: The NICU Nurse practices as a full partner on the healthcare team, consistently demonstrating safe practice according to organizational standards. The role emphasizes comprehensive care, evidence-based practice, safety, teamwork, professionalism, and leadership, with a focus on improving clinical practice and patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of experience in a level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Proficient in the operation of clinical equipment/machines, computers, and technology in the practice setting. Must hold current California RN License, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: The role involves managing complex patient care assignments, engaging in clinical inquiry, and participating in system safety initiatives. The NICU Nurse is responsible for guiding unlicensed assistive personnel and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
