Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in a healthcare facility. This role involves supporting ED-hold floating and assisting multiple units including Medical, Surgical, ICU, and Rehab, primarily during night shifts. The position requires flexibility to adapt to fast-paced and diverse patient care environments, with duties encompassing patient transport and unit coverage.
Job Details
- Location: Support for various inpatient units, including ED-held patients, ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, Rehab, and more.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification, and experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV medication titration (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, heparin). No minimum years of experience required, but clinical proficiency in acute care settings is essential.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The role involves transporting patients throughout the hospital, supporting various units, and providing patient education and communication. Candidates must call the staffing office at least 30-45 minutes before each shift to confirm assignments and be punctual for duty. Orientation includes two days of hospital onboarding and one day of unit-specific training.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within scope of practice and below.
