Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a trauma center setting. This role involves providing acute patient care in a high-volume emergency department, managing a variety of critical and non-critical cases, and working collaboratively with physicians and mid-level providers. The position requires adherence to hospital protocols, robust clinical skills, and the ability to respond effectively in fast-paced situations.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), TNCC, NIHSS, PALS; 2 years of ER experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: ENPC and NRP certifications are a bonus.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to the pediatric emergency department.
- Additional Information:
- Equipment used includes vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high flow heated devices.
- The unit manages its own ER holds and has two triage bays.
- Typical patient load ranges from 70 to 85 patients per day, including adults and pediatrics.
- ERs do not have separate psych/seclusion rooms, but in-house security is available.
- ED team includes Nurse Aids, Paramedics, Patient Sitters, and ED Techs.
- Electronic Medical Record system used is MEDITECH.
- Transportation duties are shared with radiology staff; nurses perform nurse draws for most orders.
- No call or standby requirements.
