Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Night shift The healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Nurse for a shift-based opportunity. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 30 patients. The position requires clinical expertise in interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of cardiac drips, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, and adherence to safety protocols such as isolation precautions and PPE. The assignment offers a comprehensive clinical experience in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Two years of experience preferred, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications, valid state or compact license at the time of submittal, experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of cardiac drips without titration, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management
• Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience preferred, proficiency with Epic charting system, experience in trauma level I or II, community hospital experience, previous charge nurse experience, patient ratio experience of 6 for nights, and familiarity with the unit's patient diagnoses including pneumonia, respiratory failure/ COPD, sepsis, AKI, chest pain, cellulitis, and AMS
• Additional Information:
  • Certification in ACLS and BLS required
  • Willing to work nights with a 12-hour shift schedule
  • Orientation includes 12 hours of training, with onboarding to be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Must comply with travel submission rules, including specific county restrictions and licensure requirements
  • No special equipment or special procedures are specified for this role
  • Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, and pharmacy
