Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified healthcare professional for a Step Down Unit position located in an acute care hospital. This role involves providing high-acuity medical care for adult patients in a step-down environment, utilizing advanced clinical skills and adhering to strict procedural protocols. The candidate will work days, with a schedule of 12-hour shifts totaling a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/05/2026 and ending on 01/04/2027.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale certifications; 2 years of relevant experience; active license in the state or eligible for licensing; minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting; strong arterial line management, cardiac telemetry, ventilated patient care, and invasive procedure management.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system; prior experience in trauma or high acuity step-down units; prior managing vasopressors, sedation medications, and external pacemakers.
• Open to accommodating block schedule: No
• Float: Float to floors that are lower acuity may be required.
• Additional Information: Must have proficient experience with titration of vasopressors (Levophed, Nicardipine), sedation, chest tubes, trach vent management, and cardiac arrhythmia management. Candidates should be comfortable troubleshooting vents and alarms. All procedures and equipment listed as HARDSTOP are non-negotiable, as this reflects the level of care required on the floor.
