A registered nurse specializing in Step Down Unit care is needed for a night shift position at an acute care hospital. The role involves managing high acuity patients requiring titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes. Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse Step Down Unit Nights
• Certifications and Education: Must have ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; current license to practice required; minimum of 2 years of recent bedside experience within the last 6 months.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Titration of vasopressors (Levophed, Nicardipine, etc.), sedation medication, arterial lines, cardiac arrhythmias, chest tubes, and trached ventilated patients must be managed proficiently. Travelers will float within the service line, and a minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred for handling high-acuity cases.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to start on 11/16/2026 and work until 02/15/2027, with at least 24 orientation hours.
• Licensing: MO license submission acceptable; IL license required at time of submittal; compact license submissions are permitted if matching permanent residence.
• Additional Conditions: No local candidates within 75 miles; RTO restrictions apply (max of 7 days). Candidates must complete labs within 48-72 hours of signing and modules within 1 week of contract signing, completed prior to start date.
