Description
Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position based in a healthcare facility. The role involves providing critical emergency medical services within a busy ER department, staffed 24/7 by a highly trained team. The position offers an opportunity to work in a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center, assisting a diverse patient population and responding to urgent medical needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Evening shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse license in the state of Alabama or a compact license (no temporary licenses accepted). A minimum of 18 or 24 months of recent experience in the emergency nursing field, working under the highest level of professional license. Certifications required include American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (AHA ACLS), Basic Life Support (AHA BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in trauma or stroke centers highly desirable.
- Additional Information: The position requires willingness to float to other units or hospitals as needed. The work environment emphasizes clinical excellence in a fast-paced emergency setting, with a nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients. Timesheet approval will be managed by Neil Holland, who will serve as primary and backup. Parking is available for staff.
