Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse - Dallas, Texas. This position involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU. The assignment is designed for experienced RNs who are proficient in managing preterm infants, respiratory support, and advanced procedures within a busy 108-bed unit. The role demands flexibility in shift coverage and adherence to unit policies and procedures.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days; 12-hour shifts per week, minimum of 48 hours.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of recent NICU experience, current BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications, valid license to practice nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for patients 27 weeks gestational age and above, management of central lines including broviacs, respiratory management up to and including intubated patients, experience with surgical and cardiac patients, care of trach infants, and familiarity with procedures such as central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, PDA ligations.
- Additional Information: Staff will work in a unit with advanced equipment including nasal cannula, Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), ventilators, oscillators, IV pumps, Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS), warmers, and isolettes. Unit staffing includes registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, patient care technicians, and nurse externs. Floating policy involves contract staff floating before regular staff to areas such as Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Pediatrics, and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Shifts are rotating weekends and holidays, with a start date between September 14, 2026, and October 26, 2026.
