Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) in a high-acuity obstetric unit. This position involves providing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, supporting both routine and high-risk obstetric patients. The role includes acting as a charge nurse, managing OB ED patients, and collaborating with multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts during nights, working a minimum of 48 hours per week. Shifts are scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a schedule cycle of six weeks, released two weeks prior to the start date.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certifications. Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients, with experience triaging OB patients, circulating in the operating room, cervical checks, and interpreting fetal monitoring strips. Prior charge nurse experience and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, strong leadership abilities, and prior experience in a Level II trauma center with a Level IV NICU.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes hospital and unit orientation, with 6 shifts paired with a charge nurse, and 2 days of NEO (Neonatal) training during orientation. No floating for ANM (Assistant Nurse Manager) roles except within postpartum or antepartum areas. There is no mandatory call, but open shifts may be picked up as needed. Holiday coverage is fair and equitable; ANMs are generally not required to work holidays but may elect to do so. Scrubs are provided by the facility and are not to be worn outside of hospital premises. Free parking and badge access are available.
