Job Summary

Operating Room (First Assistant) in a healthcare setting. This position involves supporting surgical teams in the operating room, ensuring procedures are performed efficiently and safely. The role requires coordination with various clinical staff and adherence to hospital protocols to provide optimal patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with call responsibilities. The minimum hours per week are 36 hours, with an estimated total of approximately 120 hours of call during the contract, self-scheduled between weekday and weekend shifts.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (American Heart Association) and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Education and experience requirements include a minimum of 2 years of relevant operating room experience. Location requirements and licensure submissions are necessary.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes one week of unit/department-specific training. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment or 3 shifts if the assignment is less than 13 weeks. Scrubs are provided. The charting system used is EPIC.
