Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Certified Surgical Technologist position is based in a healthcare facility specializing in cardiovascular surgical procedures. The role involves assisting with open-heart cardiovascular operation room cases, primarily during day shifts. Orientation begins on 09/21/2026, with additional start dates on 10/05/2026 and 10/19/2026. The assignment includes working with a team to support cardiac surgeries, including open-heart procedures, and requires adherence to specific clinical protocols and safety standards.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8-hour Day Shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with an expected 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST), active Virginia license (or applicable application process), active CPR/BLS certification, at least 2 years of open-heart cardiovascular operative room experience in a similar setting, COVID vaccination or declination, and flu vaccination or declination. For recruitment purposes, assignments end on Saturday; credentialing occurs one week prior to start date. All RTO must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is required for all Centra positions.
  • Additional Information: The role involves call requirements no more than three times per weekday and no more than three weekends in a six-week schedule. Weekend shifts include a call period from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and a working shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. The position requires submitting all credentialing documentation timely; the client can cancel up to three shifts per assignment due to census and accepts approved COVID/Flu declinations. No local traveler within 60 miles will be accepted.
