Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Aspirus Medford Hospital (Medford, WI). This position involves providing patient care on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit within a critical access hospital. The role includes rotating 12-hour shifts, with responsibilities such as vital checks, charting, and assisting with departmental needs. The unit shares responsibilities with an intensive care unit and maintains a typical census of 8-10 patients.

Job Details:

• Include schedule details: Shift is rotating 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin (WI) or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. Must have at least 2+ years of experience, with experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) preferred. Ability to read tele strips is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours each, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The unit has shared responsibilities across medical-surgical and ICU areas, with a nurse to patient ratio from 1:4-5 during day/evening shifts and 1:6-7 during night shifts. Occasional floating to other departments or Aspirus locations may be required to assist with staffing needs. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers are required to wear masks continuously as per policy.
