Job Summary
Step Down Unit registered nurse (RN) position is located in a short-term acute care facility. This role involves caring for higher-acuity patients, including those on ventilators, trach patients, and individuals requiring intermediate care or complex cardiac and respiratory management. The RN may be required to float between units to meet operational needs, and the schedule follows daytime shifts.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting on 09/28/2026 and ending on 12/28/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license preferred), at least 1 year of experience as a registered nurse, experience in step-down or intermediate care units, certifications in ACLS and BLS, and experience with care of ventilated patients, trach care, cardiac drips, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience with complex cardiac and respiratory patients, ICU experience, and proficiency with electronic charting systems such as Epic
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other units based on skill set and operational needs
- Additional Information: Candidates must have a vehicle for this assignment. Previous experience caring for higher-acuity patients such as those on ventilators, trachs, and with complex cardiac/respiratory diagnoses is essential. Candidates should be available to work three of the five designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). All scheduling requests, including time-off, should be specified upfront during application.
